Paper Crafts – Vintage Pieces for Collage/Altered Art – English Cottages in Summer
I love cottages, especially those of old England. I found these and thought they were just perfect for a summer craft. I hope you like them as well. For the larger size click on graphic and then click again.
By Virginia Wauchope Bass
I know a little cottage
Where everything’s just right;
The windows bloom with tulips –
At dust there’s candlelight.
The knotted oak beside it
Is webbed with ivy leaves,
And honeysuckle tangles
In clusters round the eaves.
The friendly gate swings open
Against a low stone wall
Where quaint oldfashioned blossoms
Design a Paisley shawl;
And up the winding pathway
The stones with moss are grown –
I love that little cottage
Because it is my own!
Of course, with these cottages you need some flowers – These are pngs so you can use in any paint program. There are no drop shadows.
And you will also needs some birds –
And, here are some scriptures about home life –
There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God. Ecclesiastes 2:24 KJV
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. Proverbs 15:6 KJV
Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife. Proverbs 17:1 KJV
The lady who serves the Lord:
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. Proverbs 14:1 KJV
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. Proverbs 31:21 KJV
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27 KJV
