I have high blood pressure and diabetes … these gifts would be the low-sodium, sugar-free chocolate covered grahams my little man purchased for our lovely Spring picnic … salty, sweet and a gift just right.
For the gifts … the beautiful day and loved ones to share it all … Thank you, Lord!
The first two did not appear to be gifts at the time, but ever afterwards have … with much laughter …
… My three year old and I were Christmas shopping after an especially hectic day at work … Finally, with shopping complete my turn came to checkout from a mile long line … I bent to put more items on the counter when my daughter decided to remove my wig … there was complete silence then roars of laughter … all the way up and down the isles. At least she made some people’s day happier.
… My son was not quite two, we were in the produce department at the grocery store. All of a sudden a huge smile crossed his little face and with outstretched arms, trying to snap his little fingers he cried “Here doggy, here doggy …” I flew out of there … he was calling to an elderly man with long white hair and a full bushy beard.
… Walking to church one Wednesday evening we saw a tiny kitten by the road … never one to abandon anything my aunt, who was only a few years older than I, picked it up and put it in her pocket.
All was fine until later kitty wanted out … the minister was speaking and we heard … “meow” … he continued and there was a louder “meow” … on he went and louder still another “meow” … by that time I was stuffing my mouth with tissue trying not to laugh out loud. She finally took the kitty outside …
… it was a very prim and proper church.
Thank you, Lord, for three gifts that made me laugh.
I almost forgot the paperdoll costume for March, soooo, here it is.

1. … three gifts given away …
Easter is nearing … fathers and grandfathers in prison have no way of giving things to their little ones … so, paper princesses, cars and super heroes are sent to be tucked into Easter greetings.
Thank you, Father, for three gifts given!
2. … three hard eucharisteos …
… I don’t feel I should post these for this month as they are not altogether mine … suffice it to say they are very difficult … however … Jesus Christ the same … yesterday … today … forever …
Thank you, Lord, for three hard eucharisteos!
3. … a gift turned, a gift folded, a gift hung …
My little man knows my penchant for pretty things, not costly, just pretty … he purchased new quilts for our bed … one in green and pinks for spring … another in blues and greens for summer … a burgundy and gold one for fall … he laughingly tells me we will have to see about the one for winter as I turn back the sheets and fold the Spring quilt … the mirror hung just over the dresser reflects the lovely colors. What fun …
Thank you, Lord, for a gift turned, a gift folded and a gift hung.
4. … three gifts red …
My three gifts red are the cardinals that came to our feeders today. They live in the cedars in back. They were singing their little hearts out and only quieted when the hawks came flying by.
Thank you, Father, for three gifts red!
5. … three gifts eaten …
Sugar-free Russell Stover candies … yum!
Thank you, Father!
One would arise at 5:30 am and leave at 5 … another at 6:30 am and would leave around 7 … the last, at 7:30 would leave about 8 or 8:15 am … long before this … at midnight … clean clothes were arranged in each chair … lunches, books w/lessons were placed at the door … three gifts in silence … three gifts of love … three memories dear.
Thank you, Lord, for three gifts in silence.
