Thus it was foretold:
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6 KJV
Thus it was accomplished:
~ Jesus was wounded –
Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. John 19: 1-3 KJV
~ Jesus died –
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19: 28-30 KJV
~ Jesus was buried –
When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:
He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn
out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door
of the sepulchre, and departed. Matt. 27:57-60 KJV
~ Jesus Arose –
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the
angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came
and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon
it. Matt. 28:2 KJV
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear
not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see
the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen
from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into
Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
Matt. 28:5-7 KJV
~ Jesus ascended –
And when he had spoken these things, while they
beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out
of their sight. Acts 1:9 KJV
Thus it has been foretold –
~ Jesus will return –
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he
went up, behold, two men stood by them in white
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye
gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken
up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner
as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:10-11 KJV
~ Every knee shall bow before Him –
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given
him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:9-11 KJV
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the
earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea,
and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and
honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth
upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
Revelation 5:13 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 KJV
